Who we support

South West Screen's funding programmes are designed to:

• Build the capacity for growth of the film, TV and digital content industries in the region
• Drive innovation and the sector's understanding and adoption of changing technologies
• Support the development of individual and professional creativity and talent
• Increase access to moving image by enabling more people to make, show, see and discuss it

To meet our aims, we give funding in a number of ways. Sometimes, it is indirect - for example, by supporting festivals or networks where individuals and companies are able to exchange news, contacts, ideas and knowledge. Sometimes, funding is provided directly to projects which address specific needs or issues. Often, we work with partners, public and private, national and regional.

As a rule, South West Screen concentrates on building capacity and infrastructure, especially by providing the information, advice, training and broad investment that will help individuals, organisations and business to develop.

We are unable to give funds directly to individual film projects. Digital Shorts is our only production funding.
