Media Trust volunteering opportunities

Media TrustMedia Trust is a charity that brings together the media and communications industries with the third sector. They have a variety of opportunities for professionals with media and communications skills to get involved in volunteering.  These include:

Volunteer Films matches small charities with TV/film production industry professionals to make 3-minute films for and about that charity. The Media Trust are seeking producers who can take ownership of a film, and also assistants and crew who can offer a couple of days to help. Producers can expect to spend two days shooting and three days editing and this can be fit around their own time over three months between August and October.

Media Matching aims to bring media/comms professionals together as volunteers with charities looking for help with specific media and comms needs.  For example, a charity might need assistance in writing a communications strategy, advice on producing a film or designing an annual report, and the Media Trust to find them someone who could help them with this for free.
It's a very flexible way to volunteer - you decide who you help, when and how - there's no obligation to get in anything you don't want to, and a match might consist of a one off phone call, or a longer term relationship - it's totally up to the adviser and charity involved. Volunteer for the Media TrustYouth Mentoring needs media professionals with practical skills (for example film-making or journalism) who could volunteer some time to help young people produce a media project. It’s completely flexible - you can help young people for anything from a few hours to a longer term project over weeks or months. The Media Trust provide training for all youth mentors.
