June was the last ‘official month’ of this years’ Media Sandbox scheme, a development programme which has enabled companies to research emerging possibilities in interactive, digital media, create new ideas and deliver innovation to the market. Since March, the six commissions have been researching the opportunities posed by multi-platform technologies and are now ready to share their research.
Next week, C6 and Steal From Work invite you to the Bristol launch of ‘Street Art Dealer’ on Thursday 9 July at 6pm. The team will launch an exciting exhibition, headlining works by Turner Prize nominee Tomoko Takahashi and James Powderly of Graffiti Research Lab; and showcase innovative uses of QR Code technology within the context of Art. More information can be found here.
The Media Sandbox final showcase event will be held on 3 September 2009 at Watershed in Bristol - more details soon, but please mark the date in your diaries now. You can also find out more about each of the six commissions and follow their progress via their online journals on the Media Sandbox commissions page.
