2-day workshop + 2 months of online tutor support and online forum
Cost: £900 full price / from £180 with Skillset bursary
Make your digital workflow work and flow! A practical, technical course addressing the challenges of formatting content for multiplatform, multipurpose delivery.
The course will develop your skills to:
- 0ptimise files for quality playback through a range of delivery platforms
- Find solutions to re-versioning or multi-versioning a file
- Brief crew and clients on the impact of re-versioning for multi-platform
- Prepare shooting and post production plans
- Plan for optimum workflow
The course will be of particular benefit to multi-skilled practitioners from TV and digital media, such as Camera Operators, Editors, Assistant Editors, self-shooting/editing production staff. A good level of technical knowledge is needed.
Course Delivery
Through a hands-on, two-day workshop you will be presented with typical post-production scenarios and challenges, and taken through the learning you need to develop and apply effective solutions. Subjects covered aside from compression techniques and file formats will be: digital workflow, shooting strategies, maximizing content usage, briefing teams and how all of this technology can be incorporated into the creative process.
Towards the end of the two-day intensive, initial guidance for two self-study projects will be given by the tutor, with further online guidance provided through tutorials, email and a dedicated user group over eight weeks. One project will focus on applying your new learning in your workplace so you will get to put theory into practice with the benefit of a tutor and peer group to support you. The second, shorter assignment will involve the development of briefing documents that your non technical colleagues can understand. A handy skill when you are trying to make sure that everybody in the production chain knows how and what they are shooting to make sure post production and re-version can go smoothly!
