Current Projects

Here are some of the great projects that we're currently supporting.

The Bottle Yard

300,000sq ft of production and build space for film and tv is now available in south Bristol at The Bottle Yard. The South West’s largest dedicated film and television production facility is now fully open for business and with several tv productions and one feature film already shot there, the former bottling factory is now fully transformed into a facility for film and television production. Find out more here.

White Horse Pictures

South West Screen has secured £400,000 Lottery funding from the UK Film Council over three years, to run a rural cinema pilot scheme for Wiltshire and the Test Valley, called White Horse Pictures. The scheme will invest in a combination of touring digital cinema standard projection equipment and high-definition Blu Ray kit, to be operated in non-traditional venues across the region, bringing the best cinema experience of the latest films to convenient locations near you. Read all about the pilot here.

iNet

The new Creative Industries iNet (Innovation Network) will bring £3.2 million of support to the South West’s creative sector until 2013, to help creative businesses thrive and advance the area’s growing reputation as a global creative centre of excellence. Read more here.

TV Futures

We have been able to offer 8 places to junior members of TV teams under TV Futures, a fantastic opportunity for TV companies in the south west to increase the multiplatform skills of staff, who have been working in TV for less than a year.

iFeatures

The Dark Half, Eight Minutes Idle and Flying Blind are the three films to be made under South West Screen’s iFeatures digital filmmaking scheme. The three films were greenlit almost exactly one year from the launch of the scheme back in October 2009 and production is now underway. Read all the latest blogs and information on the iFeatures website.

Going Green

At South West Screen we are keen to do our bit to preserve the natural beauty of our environment. That’s why we've launched the Green Filmmaking Guidelines, which we're promoting to incoming productions to show them how they can save the planet - and their budgets! - by going green.
