Mehjabeen PriceMehjabeen Price, Acting Chief Executive

Mehjabeen joined South West Screen as Director of Finance and Operations in November 2005. She became Acting Chief Executive in June 2011, when the previous CEO Caroline Norbury was seconded to the post of Interim Establishment Director for Creative England. Mehjabeen is now overseeing the transfer of South West Screen into Creative England. Mehjabeen started her career at First Women Bank in Pakistan in 1995 and was awarded a scholarship from the Bank of England to complete an MBA at the University of Exeter in 1999-2000. Mehjabeen has also worked at a private international trading business in London, and as UK Director for Stakeholder Forum, an international environment NGO, where she was responsible for the organisation's finance and operations as well as its national policy and programme activities on environmental issues.



Sheerene Amer

Shereene comes from a varied background, graduating from UWE with a BA (Hons) Ceramics. Having worked in corporate banking and the private sector, she moved into the not-for-profit sector, as an advisor to co-operative businesses and became accredited as a social enterprise advisor. For six years Shereene has been a member of the Cube Cinema in Bristol, and was formerly responsible for its financial management, as well as being a director of the organisation.

Johanna first joined South West Screen in September 2005 as Business & Skills Development Manager, responsible for developing and managing the agency’s Business & Media Skills Development programmes. After a short break, Johanna has rejoined South West Screen as International Trade Advisor, responsible for the development and delivery of a programme of international trade activity in the region.

Martin Booth, Communications Officer

Martin joined South West Screen in April 2011 after being a reporter on local, regional and national newspapers, writing everything from sports reports to diamond wedding anniversaries, and specialising in news features. Most recently, Martin was a freelance journalist and PR, and founder of arts and entertainment blog Bristol Culture.

Fiona FrancombeFiona Francombe, Production Services Manager

Having spent over 17 years in the television industry, Fiona joined South West Screen as Filming and Locations Co-ordinator in August 2007 and was promoted to Production Services Manager in January 2009.  She started her career in theatre stage-management before moving into television, and joined the BBC as a Floor Assistant, working in the eight studios at London's Television Centre before transferring to the BBC Drama Department. In 1993 Fiona was allocated to Casualty as Location Manager in Bristol. She left the BBC to go freelance shortly afterwards and for 14 years based a very successful Location Managing career in the South West. Credits include numerous episodes of Casualty, I Saw You, Bertie & Elizabeth, Teachers 1, Servants, Afterlife 1 & 2, Persuasion and immediately before joining South West Screen she was responsible for setting-up the BBC series Lark Rise to Candleford which is entirely filmed in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

Polly Gitsham, PA to Acting Chief Executive

Polly joined South West Screen in April 2010, having previously worked in broad and varied range of secretarial roles for organisations including the NHS, the Department for Work and Pensions, an electricity supplier, restaurant and retail sales company and financial advisory company. Polly has volunteered for Encounters International Film Festival for the past two years. 

Lisa Howe, Project Manager

Lisa has worked freelance with South West Screen since 2003 devising and delivering skills development programmes. Working with production companies, universities, colleges and the public sector, Lisa creates specialist training for people working in creative media including TV, web, film, animation and photography. Her work covers a broad spectrum: from traineeships that get newcomers started, to professional development for experienced practitioners; from standalone workshops, to recognised qualifications. An established Digital Media Producer – formerly holding senior production management roles with two major UK studios, including Peter Gabriel’s Real World – her career also covers blue-chip advertising photography and games publishing, bringing over 20 years of commercial experience to the table.

Sue joined South West Screen in 2007 from a background in film and television. During her four years as Managing Director of the Encounters International Short Film Festival, Sue was instrumental in taking Encounters into the top three short film festivals in Europe and making it the largest in the UK.  Prior to this, she worked in London as a production manager of Parthenon Entertainment which produces and distributes factual tv programmes worldwide, and was 10 years at Wildscreen, the world’s biggest festival of wildlife film and television. Sue has also been the co-ordinator of the European Union’s Prix Niki competition for women filmmakers, held in Amsterdam, Lisbon and Thessaloniki, and she has organised the World Congress of Science Producers in London. Her duties as a Project Manager include supporting the Programme and Development teams to ensure successful delivery of programmes and projects.

Sarah-Jane MeredithSarah-Jane Meredith, Head of Creative and Audience Development

Sarah-Jane's responsibilities include devising and implementing strategies for developing audiences; developing the infrastructure for the audio visual archives sector; and initiatives aimed at developing creative people in the region through feature length, TV and short film schemes ranging from short film production (90 seconds +) and artists' film and video, to bespoke feature length script development schemes. Sarah-Jane also manages South West Screen's Lottery programme. Sarah-Jane was previously Projects Manager at South West Media Development Agency, an organisation which merged with others to form South West Screen. Prior to that, she worked at Arnolfini and at Arts Council England (formerly Arts Council of Great Britain).

Tara Milne, Communications and Information Manager

Tara joined South West Screen in August 2010, following two years working at the UK Film Council. With a BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy, Tara started out working in communications and information for the not-for-profit sector, as Information Officer for the Powys Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wales. She then moved on to PR agency work, leading campaigns for clients from a range of industries including arts, education, arts, publishing, charity and corporate. Tara moved into the creative industries in 2008, when she joined the UK Film Council's communications team as Press and Public Affairs Officer.

Chris MollChris Moll, Executive Producer

Chris is iFeatures’ Executive Producer. He’s the driving force behind the initiative and was also the architect of the Digital Departures micro-budget scheme in Liverpool. His many production credits include the recent feature films Sparkle and Grow Your Own, the Cannes smash Terence Davies' Of Time and The City which was produced with BBC Films under the innovative Digital Departures initiative, and Nowhere Boy. Previously, Chris spent 15 years as an independent producer, initially with Aardman, for whom he produced The Wrong Trousers and latterly with his own companies Hellzapoppin Pictures and Harvest Films.

Kate Reeves, Production Liaison Assistant

Kate joined South West Screen as a Film graduate from the University of Kent. She has recently completed an internship with the BBC Film department. She has a locations background, with previous roles Location Assistant and Assistant Location Manager for television and film. Kate handles the day-to-day location and filming enquiries and oversees the Locations and Crew & Facilities databases.  

Anthony Story, iNet Director

Anthony became Director of the Creative Industries iNet in April 2011. An experienced project and business leader, Anthony is an active champion of the creative industries, especially digital technology. He has worked as a producer, creative director and writer across a number of disciplines over the past two decades, ranging from film and TV, to mobile and games, and founded the digital company Junction K.
