The aim of South West Screen's Business & Skills Development team is to help provide the region's film, television and digital media businesses with the skills, advice, back-up and investments they need to prosper and grow.

Our work attracts major funding from the South West Regional Development Agency, for whom we are Media Creative Industries partner. Programmes are delivered both directly by South West Screen, and indirectly by our Cluster Groups and other partners.

Examples of current initiatives include:

• Support packages for attending International Markets
• Pervasive Media Sandbox, an integrated programme of Research and Development funding, events and business support
• A programme of regional Iconic Events
• New entrant placements schemes
• Access to business advice and market intelligence delivered by the Cluster Groups
• Alliances for Convergence Programme, a development on the highly successful Alliances projects 2006, the 2007 version of this project will have a greater focus on the issue of the convergence of technologies and content in the media sector
