The Berlin Film Festival is one of the most important dates on the international film industry's calendar. More than 19,000 film professionals from 120 countries, including 4,000 journalists, attend the Festival every year.
If you are a South West feature film writer/producer/director looking for extra funding, mentoring and pitching support to help you at the Berlin International Film Festival, then we may be able to help you.
South West Screen has funding of up to £650 for writers who would like to attend the Berlin Film Festival, 7 - 17 February 2008. This resource can support up to 50% of delegate's fees and other supplementary activity. Successful applicants will receive access to a mentor, who will be on hand to offer help and support in developing treatments for your feature length script and preparing for the festival. They will also secure a place at a formal pitching session, to be held at the festival, and which will be attended by industry professionals.
The deadline for accreditation to Berlin Film Festival is the 15 December 2007. You need to apply to the festival to accredit. It is recommended you do this before you find out if you have received a bursary. For more information about accreditation and the festival click here.
The applications will be shortlisted on 10 December and successful applicants will be informed on 11 December.
To apply simply download and read the attached guidelines, then send a completed copy of your application form, together with a viable treatment and your CV, to South West Screen by 5pm on Friday 7 December.
If you require application guidance or would like to discuss your application please contact Hannah Green or telephone 0117 952 9980.
