Annecy Animation Festival 2007

Annecy is the number one international competitive animation festival. For over 45 years the town has been showing off the very best in the art during 6 days of animated festivities.

The capacity to present and promote animation in all its different forms has made Annecy a world-wide point of reference for the animation industry.

South West Screen supported 3 companies in 2007.

"Annecy is a fantastic film festival offering plenty to do outside of the screenings. This is where the support we received through SWS came into its own. Firstly, we were given a mentor (Helen Brunsdon) who ensured we were introduced to everyone from film makers to distributors at the Aardman Breakfast and Dreamworks' lakeside picnic. Meanwhile our SWS bursary was put to great use at Mifa, the magic word that opens doors to otherwise hard to reach industry contacts (although we did have to rely on our mentor to point them out in the crowd). By the end of the festival, the only thing we were short of was sleep."
