South West Second Post Scheme

Are you ready to make the leap to being a freelance editor? Are you working as an assistant editor or machine room operator but need to grow your skills to upgrade to editing? You can apply now for Second Post.

Second Post will offer freelancers and employees in the post production sector the opportunity to access a tailored programme of professional skills development at a subsidized rate. The scheme is supported and funded by the Skillset TV Freelance Fund and delivered by South West Screen. Freelancers will be able to access the scheme using their own financial contribution or through company sponsorship.

Building on the successful First Post pilot for new entrants, this project will provide continuing support for freelancers looking to grow their skills for current and future markets, particularly around new technologies. Designed for edit assistants who want to progress onto editing in the near future.

Held over 6-months and delivered through industry trainers and mentors, training will be offered as master classes, workshops, peer review groups and online forums, plus industry visits and networking. Check back here for more information on the scheme as it becomes available.
