About the Scheme
SWATS is a structured new entrants' training scheme providing learning through work placements, professional short-course training and mentoring. The scheme, which has run three times between 2002 and 2007, works with the region's production community to develop new talent in a realistic and meaningful way taking into account the needs of trainees and industry.
SWATS 2006-07 was co-funded by Skillset, South West Regional Development Agency and the region's production industry.

About the Placements
Twenty-seven placements - for Junior Researchers, Production Assistants and Junior Coordinators - were provided by eighteen of the region's production companies for SWATS 2006-07. These included: Aspect Film & Video, BBC Bristol, Denham Productions, Diverse Bristol, Flashback Bristol, GRACE Productions, Halo Films, INC, Maniac Films, Motiongrafik, Parthenon Entertainment, RDF Television West, Silicon 19 Media, Testimony Films, Tigress Bristol, Touch Films, Touch Productions, Twofour Broadcast.
