Media Cluster Groups

South West Screen's Business Support Programme develops media companies' capacity to operate and grow as successful businesses, enabling new and existing market opportunities to be exploited.

Meeting the needs of media companies in a region as vast and diverse as South West England is no mean feat, but our innovative 'Cluster' approach has had an enormous impact. With over 2,000 members, the Clusters encourage companies to come together to network, establish partnership projects and share best practice. They provide scale and focus with a collective profile which attracts national attention. Investment in the Clusters is already leveraging significant funds; for example, Gloucestershire Media Group which receives approximately £40,000 from South West Screen, has now partnered with local education institutions Cirencester Media College and Gloscat to secure £400,000 funding from Learning and Skills Council Gloucestershire and the European Social Fund for GMG-Train, allowing all training for members to be either free or subsidised.
